This is really a terrible product. I bought this item last summer and had some issues with it. First of all I have to say that I read the bad reviews before purchasing but since there were so many positive ones I felt the points raised were exaggerated and/or overdone. I found this safe very difficult to open from the start. I am a young and strong woman, Revane, and was shocked at how much strength it took to open this; This item is probably totally unsuitable for the elderly and people with disabilities. I probably should have returned it right away, but since I wasn't planning on doing this on a regular basis, I figured it would probably work just fine. After trying for about a month to get my pass for that night's flight, I couldn't get in! I panicked and it took three people almost an hour to open it! For the past few months I've been practically unable to get into this box when I try. At first I found this funny because on several occasions I've tried to access the small amount of money I keep on hand for "emergencies" and on those occasions I've basically tried to use that money for something more important. there was no emergency. However, this week I had to log in again to get some documents and again I couldn't open them! Again several people tried to open it although none of us could get it to open. Fearing that I would have to pay a locksmith to open it, I decided to see if I could force it open. The closest was an upholstery stapler. I was able to open the box with almost no effort. Luckily that meant I could get the items I needed, but it also meant the box was officially damaged and unusable. a key mechanism that seems to be stuck so that as soon as you turn the key you have to press this button that serves to open the box; The button is the part that seems to fail. Who knows if this box is actually fireproof, luckily I never had to test the part but it's clear that getting in and out isn't easy and it's certainly not burglar resistant. I would avoid this one!
