I've often bought and given away these cases! I have a few cats - some don't handle TV cords, phone chargers, laptops, etc. BUT other cats are obsessed with chewing cords! So do them and yourself a favor and use these cable covers! They do not "stretch" but are "flexible". I honestly don't know what I would do without them, just cut them to your cord size and apply! The risk of electrocution is real. I personally know two people whose cats have bitten the umbilical cord with horrible results. A kitten bit the cable from the TV - half of its tongue was fried, had to be put down. The other was an adult cat who chewed on several dangling cords and suffered severe burns to the mouth that were extremely painful and took many months to heal. I doubt the cat will ever be completely normal again. Very sad true story.
