I needed more SATA III storage for my 17.3" ASUS ROG -Gaming laptop so I bought a Samsung 860 Pro SSD with a capacity of 2TB to replace my 1TB laptops Samsung 850 Pro solid state drive Apart from the obvious increase in storage capacity the 860 Pro is in almost all benchmarks- Tests and actual real world memory usage Slightly faster than the 850 Pro but not as much as I thought (should be limited by the old SATA III interface) Attached are comparison photos of tests between the 860 Pro and 850 Pro Samsung 10 year warranty on the 850 Pro. The Samsung 8 60 Pro is the best selling SATA III SSD and, despite the high price, it is a 5-star SSD like its predecessor. If I didn't need the additional 2TB storage of the Samsung 860 Pro SSD it wouldn't be worth upgrading my 1TB Samsung 850 Pro SSD as the performance increase alone isn't enough to justify the high cost. However, if you need more SATA III storage capacity or are upgrading from a slow SATA III hard drive, then the Samsung 860 Pro is the best SATA III SSD in the world. The Samsung 860 Pro SSD uses MLC Nand, which offers consistently higher performance with a much higher endurance than cheaper SATA III SSDs with TLC or QLC Nand. I would highly recommend the Samsung 860 Pro SSD to anyone looking for the best SATA III SSD.
