TL;DR: This is the best Xbox One headset I've ever had and I've upgraded from Astro A50 Gen 3. They have excellent sound quality, comfort and build quality. Full review below. I've been looking for the perfect Xbox headset for a long time. I've tried all the big names like Turtlebeach, Razer, Plantronics and Astro. I chose the Astro A50 for better sound quality and comfort, but they still weren't perfect. They had short battery life and connection issues. So now I'm learning about LucidSound, an up-and-coming manufacturer of premium headsets. I saw on their website that their latest (and greatest) LS41 headset is coming out soon. I was waiting for them to come out on Revain and decided to order and give it a try. [Pros] + Sound Quality: The sound quality is premium, voices and footsteps are clear, but shots and explosions still sound good. I feel like they have the same amazingly wide soundstage as my previous A50s, without the echo chamber sound or lack of punchy bass. + Comfort: These headphones are a bit heavier due to the metal construction, but they don't feel like they're standing on their heads. The ear pads fit my rather large ears and don't get too hot even after playing for a long time. I also like that they fit snugly without being too tight. + Build quality: LucidSound has done a great job, high quality materials and a comfortable weight give a feeling that they will last. Also, they look very nice, but without exaggeration, like any other professional gaming headset.+ Controls: The volume controls are very intuitive. The left ear at the top has a dial for the game's sound, and pressing it mutes the sound. And the right ear has the same for chatting. This makes it easy and enjoyable to get the game/chat balance you want. The dials also have a physical limit on how much they rotate, so you'll know when they're maxed out. [Cons] - Microphone monitoring: Although this headset has built-in microphone monitoring, it is directly tied to game volume. So muting the game to hear the chat better also reduces microphone monitoring and I feel like I end up speaking louder than necessary. It would be nice if they released an update to separate the mic monitoring level from game volume or just increase it across the entire game volume spectrum. [Optional] * Chat on Xbox: Due to the fact that the headset is not certified by Xbox as it is cross-platform with PS4, you must use a 3.5mm cable for chat. I don't consider this a minus because the site clearly states that this is a case and the cable is included in the box. It's also just a cable at the bottom of your controller and the headset is fully functional. So no big deal.
