Review on πŸ“Έ Sigma EF-530 DG ST Electronic Flash: Premium Lighting Solution for Pentax and Samsung DSLRs by Chad Rosier

Sigma flash: clip-on flash

Let's start with the good things: -strong guide number -tiltable pan head -focus assist lamp (works great!) -good (but could be better) build quality Now cons: Huge size. It's not a problem for me, but some people find it bad. The on/off/mode switch is really tiny and requires precision when switching. It gets frustrating when you need to turn on the flash quickly - Only three modes (TTL, full power, 1/16th power) - Poor manual control - No 45 or 30 degree click (tilt) position Overall, this is really a basic flash . In TTL mode, your camera chooses the right exposure for you. In Full Power and 1/16 Power modes, you need to set the exposure yourself. The zoom function works well, but there are no manual controls for it (unlike the Super version). The fastest shutter speed is therefore the same as with the built-in flash (1/180 on the K200D). So if you want a good flash that can turn you into a pro, go for the Super version. But if you're a beginner, this is a really powerful basic flash for the money.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
