Great price and good flash

I've had this flash for almost a year now. That's a great flash. The only problem I have is that there is no indication when the battery is low. I mean, it lasts a long time, but when the battery is low it just doesn't work or takes a long time to charge. Otherwise it's a good flash.

  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Something different

Works best with flash

I needed a flash to get the best interior shots of my newborn. The flash is pretty easy to use, and by aiming it at different angles and bouncing the light off the ceiling or walls, the shots came out better than I expected. I usually use it in auto mode with my Pentax K7 and I can take pictures pretty quickly and it doesn't slow me down. Works perfectly.

A great addition to your kit

I'm an affordable light person but a flash comes in handy from time to time and a built in just doesn't fit. Being minimalist and cheap I just wanted a solid TTL block with no frills. This flash is amazing. You can tilt and turn your head and it has a built in diffuser, the range is excellent. Considering it's less than half the price of the Pentax brand, this is a great deal.

What is the meaning of this thing. He only has.

What is this thing supposed to do. It only has 3 settings 1. ttl 2. high 3. low. I'm used to manual flashes so I went with ttl. As I shoot Pentax, my third party options are very limited. There isn't even a slave mode here. This is the only flash that keeps showing that the shutter curtain is out of sync. Not a fan, he just sits in my camera bag and mocks me.

Good price.

Recently switched from the EF-530 DG ST (bought by mistake because I wanted an LCD screen) to the EF-610 DG Super. I'm having some issues with flash photography on my Pentax k10D with Sigma flash, which may (but I don't have a Pentax flash to compare and test) stem from some possible incompatibility issues between Pentax body and Sigma flash. The rest of the Sigma is good quality at a reasonable price. The flash looks very solid, solid and professional, its only and only advantage is someโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Expensive

Sigma flash: clip-on flash

Let's start with the good things: -strong guide number -tiltable pan head -focus assist lamp (works great!) -good (but could be better) build quality Now cons: Huge size. It's not a problem for me, but some people find it bad. The on/off/mode switch is really tiny and requires precision when switching. It gets frustrating when you need to turn on the flash quickly - Only three modes (TTL, full power, 1/16th power) - Poor manual control - No 45 or 30 degree click (tilt) position Overall, this is

Basic flash, no-fuss, few features, reliable

I bought this flash to serve as a basic PTTL flash (before getting interested in studio work). So far I've used the Pentax AF280T in auto mode and decided to upgrade to a more powerful flash, zoom head and AF-assist illuminator. Including Sigma 530 DG ST. First impression: very well made, seems stable enough, looks better than some Yongnuos I've seen. The AF280T feels great, but the Sigma is just as well built, just as light, albeit larger. The Vivitar 285HV is bigger and heavier and appears to
