Review on ๐ŸŒ€ Fan-Tastic Vent 801250 1250 Series Vent: Efficient Cooling and Ventilation in Stylish White by Dave Brummet

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The 1st fan I bought had a noisy motor, but a few months later the 2nd one I bought was perfect

Installation was easy, although I got through the styrofoam insulation in the ceiling of the mobile home had to fumble to get 12 volt power. , but that was to be expected. What was not to be expected was the noise generated by the fan motor. I had to test it before installing it. An identical model I bought several decades ago and installed in an enclosed cargo trailer still worked great without the loud squeaking noise of the new unit. The return window was still open, but the thought of taking it off and returning it was pretty depressing. Instead, I contacted the manufacturer (Dometic in Elkhart, Indiana) and after I received email confirmation from Revain and the date of purchase, they immediately sent me a replacement motor. It was a morning call and a replacement motor/fan assembly was shipped the same day. It was connected with 4 screws and 2 wires; much easier than complete removal. The noise went away and it was a pleasure to deal with a company that quickly helped me with my problem. I have a second valve that I am looking to replace and Dometic's decision in my situation prompted me to purchase another 1250 valve. But first I'll test it on the dyno! They are still made in the USA. Page 2; Ordered a second 1250 valve for a different location in February 2020 and this time tested before doing anything else. This purchase was remarkably quiet and installed with no surprises. I noticed that the motor was marked Dometic; as was the replacement motor they sent me for the first vent I installed. The noisy engine that came out was marked Atwood. Whether one can conclude something from this, who knows. In this case at least, the two Dometic motors were fine, and the Atwood made a screeching noise like first gear on an old manual transmission.
