The steering upgrade is a big improvement.

Installed on my 01 Outback LL Bean. It hurt on the driver's side but it lasted about an hour. clear difference. The steering is very tight. No more vibrations. When I turned left the noise went away. Great upgrade. 272,000 miles.

For those wondering, I bought these for a 2004 Forester.

For those interested, I bought this for a 2004 Forester, it came with two 30mm and one 25mm. I used 30mm. The easiest way is to loosen the steering joint, which lowers the steering rack just enough to fit in the large square one.

  • Stylish and modern design

The socket on the driver's side was torn at the edge

All sockets are of course slotted so that the sockets can be used in the frame. However, the bushing on the driver's side came out of the box and broke at the point where the bushing is preventing the rail from sliding horizontally. Unfortunately, I discovered this after already dropping the steering rack and pulling out the old bushing. I just go to the OEM. Returned item.

Pros
  • Many positive emotions
Cons
  • Piggy bank price

sometimes it's better to come back

I can't give a final assessment of the product alone. At the same time I changed the power steering pump, rail and rail bushings, the pump was leaking, for a couple of years the rail anthers were torn. Bit the bullet and did everything The old strut bushings were broken and worn out. From what I can gather from their installation they are stiffer than the original and should prevent the post from moving. When something runs out of stock, sometimes the best comes back.

Pros
  • Very good value for money

As strong as they are

The difference between the two, especially on an older car (Subaru Forester 2000) is amazing. My Subaru had a bad bushing on the passenger side and as removing the driver side bushing was too cumbersome I decided to test how much of a difference this bushing makes. Surprisingly, replacing just one bushing with this makes the steering much more stable, especially at highway speeds! I ended up replacing the driver side bushing from the old stock bushing with a white one and I'm very happy with…

Good replacement for old OEM bushings. The steering wheel is now straight!

Last time I had a fall the technician said the steering wheel wasn't straight because the steering rod bushings were worn; I didn't know what was causing this particular problem so I decided to replace them. I used Whiteline bushings to replace the stock steering rack bushings on a 2003 WRX with 161,000 miles. I can't tell you how they compare to new OEM bushings, but they compare very well to worn bushings. Steering response is back or improved, the steering wheel is now straight and when…

Suitable for Subaru Legacy Outback 2000. Assembly pain!

Fits my 2000 Legacy Outback. Installation was an absolute pain, I guess it depends on which Subaru model you have. I also believe a lot of my problems are related to rack housing corrosion. The driver's side was the most difficult. If you're having trouble, I highly recommend unscrewing the gimbal on the steering shaft and sliding it down so the steering rack falls off a bit. Be sure to mark the U-joint before loosening it to make sure you put it back in place. Management feels very different…

Big improvement! Best Steering System

I bought these for my '93 Subaru Legacy L and they fit perfectly. around, then you will see what improvement has been made. Those complaining about the installation should do more research before embarking on this project. I've read several Subaru forums and watched a youtube video that explains the process pretty well. The only thing I doubted was having to "bend cleanly" the power steering lines that got in the way of the struts. Once I did that, I had more room to work under the car. The…
