Great Bang for Buck - Beware the muddy bottom.

This is a well-made product, but it's worth noting that depending on your intended use, it may not be for you. There is a plastic material on the bottom of the ruler to prevent it from slipping. This is very valuable in many cases, but when you're trying to align something precisely, this feature can get in the way. The pin sticks to the synthetic material, greatly reducing your measurements. Great return if you plan to use it on slightly warped surfaces, but for prep work on cast iron plates you'll have to jump. more expensive, traditional straight edge.
