Review on Macally USB Wired Mouse for Mac and Windows - 3 Button, Scroll Wheel Design with 5ft Cord - Easy Plug and Play Wired Computer Mouse - White by Staxy Asedr

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good, wider feel; uneven scroll wheel

This is a good wired mouse but not as comfortable to use as Apple's Bluetooth wireless mouse which I was about to throw away because it doesn't support Bluetooth connectivity. I compared this mouse. , MacAlly Xmouse with Icemouse 3 of the same company, and then returned the second. In comparison, the Xmouse feels wider in the hand and rises higher at the back for a more comfortable grip. The Icemouse3 has a thinner middle section which makes my hand feel cramped after holding it for too long. The Xmouse scroll wheel runs rougher than the Icemouse3. The first scroll wheel looks like a small model car tire with a tread on the edge. Icemouse3 has smaller treads in the center and plastic rims around the wheel. The Icemouse3 wheel also has undesirable lateral (axial) play. I prefer the Xmouse wheel's great tactile feedback. I used a digital caliper to confirm the numerical measurements for both mice as shown in the images; The fact that the reference lines on the sides are not to the same scale as the images turns out to be meaningless. Both mice make a clicking noise: Xmouse is louder. Both mice are significantly lighter than the Apple Bluetooth mouse because they do not contain batteries. Buying one of these wired scroll wheel mice is a throwback to yesteryear, and it doesn't feel too good. But both are durable, aesthetically pleasing, and useful mice that always stay connected (!). The cable itself isn't a huge hassle and its 1.50m length makes it suitable for a variety of computers. Kudos to MacAlly for making several similar mice, any of which would probably be a good choice.
