This paddle has an interesting design. It apparently has gouges and scratches built into the design of the paddle. There are fairly deep scrathes in the face of one side of these paddles and large scratches designed into the metal where the paddle connects together. There are also burs on the heatwrap that can be uncomfortable so you need to adjust your grip. The pictures are a bit deciving as its hard to noticed the scratched design from photos on the website. Personally I would have liked an unscratched paddle and one where it doesnt look quite so damaged. Id rather a sleek clean design rather than one that looks beat up. I would rather be the one to put dents and scratches in the paddle from use rather than it be in the design of the paddle itself. Paddle itself still works just disappointed.
