A pair of these napkin rings had rough edges on the inside - a bit of sharp excess metal caught in the napkin. I asked my son to write them down for me. Other than that, it's a great purchase! We're trying to cut down on paper napkins and towels, and plan to use a box of my grandmother's old tissue paper. They work great. We now keep napkins rolled and ringed in a box by the table. Increased our usage so they were easily accessible and also looked attractive. This size was especially good for my very old, very soft linen napkins that are no longer bulky. These napkins slipped out of large rings but this size was perfect. However, they are also great for newer, stiffer and larger fabrics.
