First off, this is primarily a trail running shoe. If you walk the streets a lot, look elsewhere. Second: fantastic shoes. I couldn't believe the quality for the money I paid for it. Top quality. I run 10km on the road every day and after reading the many reviews on this and other websites about this shoe and the numerous people who use it for road running, I decided to bite into it. I'm on a tight budget and this time of year it's hard to find street shoes for less than a hundred dollars. Having settled on a lightweight road running shoe, I absolutely cannot recommend it for road running. I know these are trail running shoes or "multi-surface running shoes" but after seeing the sheer number of users carrying a black top I decided to take a bite. Why don't I like them road running, you might ask? First of all the weight. They're bulky, at least twice the weight of my previous shoes, and the break-in period was quite painful for the first week. Recently I've been taking my dogs up some very steep local trails (I live near the very hilly Finger Lakes area of NYC). York) and these shoes are PHENOMENAL. I sped at top speed down a very narrow path strewn with trees, rocks and roots that flexed with almost every step and seemed unstoppable. The grip was like wearing boots. Despite the speed, I was able to turn a dime, using the trees to increase my speed through corners, and felt nothing under my feet despite the different types of terrain I negotiated (ranging from rocky to loose, needle-covered Dirt). one star for personal reasons, and actually that's not why the shoes were specifically designed, so I'm not entirely sure if that applies to me. I only did this after many others had reported great road running and I feel they fell short in that regard. Speaking of trail running, do they have better shoes? Yes. Will you find them anywhere at this price? Absolutely not. If you're on a budget and running cross-country, this is your shoe. And finally, as I forgot to mention above, they fit perfectly.
