The filter material looks good, although the edge mesh fell off and I had to glue it on before installing. THE REAL PROBLEM (see image) is that the hard plastic filter frame is 1/8" deeper than the OEM. And believe me, that makes PITA difficult to install. And everyone who says it was easy, is FOS or they THINK it's installed correctly but the lower housing is probably not sealed properly.I had to remove BOTH halves of the filter housing from the car, install the filter and then reinstall the entire air filter housing!It works but definitely not those Worth the Time or Effort My time is worth a few bucks more for a filter that fits CORRECTLY for 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6L, 2016 Subaru Forester 2.5L
