Review on πŸ” Enhanced Blue Sea Systems Add-A-Battery Kit: Optimize your Search! by Cameron Novak

Every boat should have one of these.

I decided it was time to upgrade my boat to a dual battery setup with an automatic way to charge the batteries from the alternator and enough power to start the boat if my accessories were using too much power at anchor. Following the instructions, the system was easy to install. It took me exactly 4 hours. I spend the first hour figuring out the manufacturer's wiring work. After labeling which wires went to the starter, bilge, trim, and house accessories, everything went smoothly. I made my own battery cables for a neater look and saved a few bucks. Pulled the boat out the next day and after almost a full day on the lake listening to the radio and charging a few devices from the accessory outlet the boat immediately caught fire. I used to turn off the radio after a few hours to save starter headroom. Now I don't worry about it anymore and enjoy it. To update. This unit is a life saver and has already paid for itself by saving me the cost of a SeaTow or an expensive battery at the dock. I accidentally left the boat's ignition key on while the boat was unattended for an extended period of time which resulted in the starter battery draining to around 6 volts to start the engine. Realizing my mistake and that I had completely discharged the starter battery, I set the battery selector switch to the "Combine Batteries" position and was able to start the boat immediately as the second battery was isolated and not fully charged at all. Installing this kit allowed me to use the second battery at the lake for a day until I got home to fully charge the first battery.
