Description of 🔍 Enhanced Blue Sea Systems Add-A-Battery Kit: Optimize your Search!

Simplifies switching. Isolates engine and house circuits. Combines batteries for emergency starting. Tin-plated copper studs for maximum conductivity and corrosion resistance. 12/24 Volt DC 120 Amp Automatic Charging Relay (PN 7610) automatically combines batteries during charging. Isolates batteries during engine cranking and when not charging. Includes E-series dual circuit plus battery switch (PN 5511E). This is a necessary thing.

After purchasing a set of jumper cables to separate my starting battery from my trolling motor battery, I knew there had to be a better solution. That's that answer. Now I can relax listening to the radio while fishing with the fishfinder on and charging my phone. I have a dedicated starter battery, a household battery, and know that both are charged. starter battery first. With some basic wiring knowledge, you can build a system on your boat that will make your electrical system more…

  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Great for staying off the lake all day

We bought a boat last summer, it's a 20ft bowrider. I've always worried that if we spend a day on a sandbar listening to music without driving to keep the generator running, we'll be stranded one day. I finally made up my mind and bought this one. I'd say I'm advanced but not an expert on these things and I'm happy to report that everything was installed, including the second battery pack and battery, in about two hours. I also installed the on board charger when on the boat slipway to keep…

Great idea but reliability issues

Really like this dual battery system on my small dual console boat. I installed the kit myself with relative ease. It seems to work as advertised. However, I had two errors related to the charger/ACR. The company is fantastic and replaced the unit the first time it failed. Now I take care of the second error. I learned that there was a major fire in the company and the vault was completely destroyed. They are working on getting their stock back and getting me a new unit soon. I also learned…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Expensive

This thing is GENIUS! I bought it for I/O - I have a deep cycle and a starter battery. This allows both batteries to be charged by the alternator through the ACR. Another feature is that the switch itself allows both batteries to be turned on, but only draws power from the battery that is physically being used (e.g. when my fish finder is on, it uses the deep cycle battery, NOT the starter battery). ); Another feature of the switch is that you can combine both batteries if your starter battery…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • No power

Every boat should have one of these.

I decided it was time to upgrade my boat to a dual battery setup with an automatic way to charge the batteries from the alternator and enough power to start the boat if my accessories were using too much power at anchor. Following the instructions, the system was easy to install. It took me exactly 4 hours. I spend the first hour figuring out the manufacturer's wiring work. After labeling which wires went to the starter, bilge, trim, and house accessories, everything went smoothly. I made my…

This is a great kit for adding a battery to your SUV

This is a great kit for adding a battery to your SUV. Although intended for marine use, it is ideal for installation under the hood and managing a second battery. The intelligent relay is particularly intelligent as it can detect the charging voltage from both sides of the relay. For example, if it detects a charge from your alternator on your battery #1, it will close the relay and charge battery #2. When the solar system is charging battery #2 the relay will sense the charging voltage, once…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Fantastic customer service!

Updated: Thank God for Blue Sea and their excellent customer service! In retrospect I am now convinced that the problem with my device was caused by the seller (not the Blue Sea manufacturer) selling the defective device in the hope that I would not open it right away. When I called Blue Sea and emailed photos with them they answered me straight away and said they would send me a new unit. No questions were asked. They gave me a service number to troubleshoot if there were further problems and…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Modern

Two ways to connect.

After much reading and calling Blue Sea Technical Support I am very impressed with this product and their support. I know others are concerned about the low voltage draw of the ACR block. The ACR unit consumes a small amount of power for a VERY long time and can drain the batteries it monitors. I spoke to Blue Sea Tech about this and they thought it took about 4 months just to sit around and watch the battery voltage before the voltage drop started causing starting problems. (Of course this…
