Updated: Thank God for Blue Sea and their excellent customer service! In retrospect I am now convinced that the problem with my device was caused by the seller (not the Blue Sea manufacturer) selling the defective device in the hope that I would not open it right away. When I called Blue Sea and emailed photos with them they answered me straight away and said they would send me a new unit. No questions were asked. They gave me a service number to troubleshoot if there were further problems and two days later I received a replacement unit. I've never had such amazing customer service as this LONG, LONG. I will buy more of their products. Original post: I spent a lot of money on this charger to get better use and maintenance of the batteries on my boat. I bought it last August and thought I would install it on my boat right away, but the season left me before I did. I was going to install it this year and when I opened the box and then installed the unit I found that the starter battery connector was faulty. The device is absolutely useless! You won't be able to see this flaw until you take the charger out of the box and remove the terminal cover, which I did for the first time today. This is clearly a defect that does not go unnoticed during production and assembly. I can only assume someone knew it was faulty and tried to sell it anyway, knowing that someone like me might not install it right away. Now it's past the time I can go back to Revain, so I'm stuck with $250 hardware that can only charge my backup battery. I already have a $25 charger that does this. The box says the device is covered by a 5-year warranty, so we'll see if the company will endorse their product. I'm waiting for a call back from them. I will report here how they treat me.
