We bought a boat last summer, it's a 20ft bowrider. I've always worried that if we spend a day on a sandbar listening to music without driving to keep the generator running, we'll be stranded one day. I finally made up my mind and bought this one. I'd say I'm advanced but not an expert on these things and I'm happy to report that everything was installed, including the second battery pack and battery, in about two hours. I also installed the on board charger when on the boat slipway to keep them charged which is nice as this product ensures both batteries are charged. Now, when I'm out on the lake all day, when I turn, my battery at home is just empty, and then when I set off, I have a full battery to start the boat. On the way back, the generator then automatically charges both batteries. This is a great system for a great price IMO!
