Review on Sony Alpha 16 55Mm Standard APS C by James Baker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great lens! Just need OSS stabilization!

I've tried many E-mount lenses, from Sigma 1.8 zooms to other Sony primes and zooms. This is the only beginner lens I recommend for APS-C users and it works in most situations. As an APS-C user you want a small, compact and portable body so look no further! PROS: Very compact for a 2.8 lens. Great size for my a6600! Compare to full-frame 2.8 lenses that are almost twice the weight. Surprisingly short minimum focusing distance of 1 foot at 55mm! (Replaced my Sony 90 macro lens) - Wide range of focal lengths (replaced my Sigma 16mm, Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 zoom [adjusted], 50mm prime) CONS: - No OSS image stabilization. - Focused breathing can be seen on the video. - Manual mode requires the use of a switch instead of an instantaneous switch
