A little back story to guage the testing i will be putting these through. I work in pest control in the PNW. This means constant walking and exposure to sun/water/mud. Not only that I need these shoes to survive multiple crawlspaces (toe damage) but they need to be waterproof.Yes these arnt real leather, don't have a dedicated toe protector, and have fabric on the upper. The PU leather toe and sole attractment of this shoe is what I'm most interested in. Will it survive crawling around jagged rocks, mud, dirt, and animal feeces? Will the sole detach?I really want to like these shoes but only time will tell if they last. Right out of the box they are comfortable and have proven to be waterproof at this point. The PU leather will not absorb any waterproofing like obenaufs but I have applied kiwi spray to the fabric areas and will continue todo so maybe once a week.Right off the bat impressions:Pro: lightweight. Feels like a hiking shoe. Side zipper is handy! Currently waterproof.Con: the sole is lightweight so ladder rungs and rafters/joists can be a little painful if standing on them for extended periods. Sole can be slippery when wet on some surfaces. The material is quite hard which may mean it will last longer but lack of traction is noticeable. My boot journey is on going and one day i hope to find an inexpensive boot that can preform what i need and do it for over a year. I will try and remember to keep this review updated from time to time for anyone else in my shoes.Picture: 1 week of use. Dried mud and crawlspace debris need to be brushed off.
