I gave 4 stars because I like it a lot but it could be better. As you can see from the photos, the base of my toe is noticeably smaller than the knuckle, so I always have trouble with ring rotation and difficulty finding the right size with my large knuckles and swollen fingers. I usually wear a size 4.5 (this is the ring in the photo) but I can wear a size 4 although sometimes I can't put it on/off because my finger is swollen. In the second photo you can see how the ring wants to sit with a *slight* hand movement as it is very heavy. These ring gauges work almost perfectly! I have to put them on after the ring is on my finger or it won't come off the knuckle. It's a little handy when my fingers are swollen and I've tried cutting a slightly wider size and it just made the edges sharp and didn't feel flimsy. This is where the lower star rating comes into play. I think it would be helpful to have alternative kits for sale. I didn't need much width for a ring. It would be a good idea to choose a width for your ring and then choose from a variety of lengths to get the best fit rather than cutting it down. Still worth buying!
