Last year I was diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer and my tonsil swelling was causing pain in my left ear. I've been using headphones for at least a decade as I frequently listen to audio books and have learned 8 languages. I often use headphones to sleep at home or on the plane. I listen to audio books in foreign languages, the sound does not disturb the calm from the outside. It also helps a lot with listening. However, when I put on my sleep headphones after my cancer treatment, I felt an odd, painful burning sensation in my left ear near the swelling. So I googled no-radiation headphones and saw these. The sound is much clearer than regular headphones that come free with your iPhone or iPod. This device is durable. Since I sleep with the headphones on, I often roll over on them or have them pulled out at night, making me wonder if they would fall apart. Not yet and I've been using them for a week. This headset was surprisingly expensive (compared to the free ones), but still worth the investment for peace of mind, comfort, and listening pleasure.
