I bought this whistle as a new whistle while I'm a lifeguard as the building is often quite noisy and I sometimes need to get people's attention. PROS Very loud - my ears are ringing after blowing and I like floating - obviously good for the CONCL pool and still able to make all the sound. Mouthpiece - it's hard to get the whistle tight and still blow hard, I also have to clamp it with my teeth which is uncomfortable. The full sound is directed to the side - the whistle is usually louder from the side. Overall this is a very loud whistle, even louder than the air horns we often use. But for my application this is not suitable for everyday use. However, it would be ideal for an emergency whistle.
