I bought the Ultimate (blank) model with blue switches about two years ago and it was great. I also tried brown ones but they were a bit bland and didn't give the feedback I wanted. The Blues are really loud, but combined with the 0.4mm shift dampers, they're not loud enough to be uncomfortable. I've tried a few and these worked the best: Max Keyboard Cherry MX Rubber Switches O-rings Dampeners 50A - 0.4mm Reduction (130 pack) I use these at home though, I wouldn't even bother with dampers in one use open office . I bought this keyboard to learn touch typing better. I've improved a lot and I can attribute most of that to this keyboard. The blank keycaps keep you from looking at the keyboard when positioning your fingers, which was very helpful. I couldn't help but watch and it helped me break through that block. However, I found the standard caps to be really flimsy and cheap. Even if you need to enter a password, the blank keys can be confusing. For these reasons, on the black keys, I bought black caps that were higher quality and shaved a seal on them that you don't see right away. After making these changes, this keyboard is perfect and fun to use. Keyboards: Original Carbon Black CherryMX keycaps (double set of ABS plastic keys) 114 mechanical keycaps The keyboard has been used for almost two years and is great.
