After reading all the reviews on this mattress topper I was so confused that I had to go back and write a review acknowledging all the opposing opinions about it. The lid is very small because it is vacuum sealed. It also comes directly from China. However, I opened the package and left it on the couch the night I first received it, after that it was still pretty flat. Remembering one of the reviews, the next morning I put it in the dryer for 30 minutes and of course it swelled. If you are looking for a mattress topper this isn't it it is a mattress topper with a little lint but I wasn't looking for anything that would make my son's bed more comfortable this is a bed with a room to sleep in. I just wanted something to protect the mattress that he wouldn't get too hot to sleep on and that could just be thrown in the wash to keep his mattress clean. This case is PERFECT for that. It adds a decent layer to the bed for some comfort and ventilation, but it's not a pillow topper. The best part is that it has so much fringe/elastic that it fits VERY WELL on the bottom of the mattress and therefore hardly bounces at night. That was a big bonus for me. My son also finds that he sleeps a little cooler in it. If you have any doubts based on the reviews, don't hesitate. This is a great mattress topper at a very good price.
