So far it has worked great for the first two months of use. I compared them to the Baratza Vario W, which, according to reviews, has had power issues over time. The only issue I've had with the Rancilio Rocky Doser so far is the grind size setting feature, which isn't a deal breaker. Just make sure when lowering the ground setting that you don't immediately turn on the motor when you meet resistance. If you twist it a few times, it will loosen the soil and return to normal operation. With Rocky parts readily available online I have no doubt that in the future as parts wear out you will be able to find replacements. If you renounce a donor or donors,. I usually make a few espressos in the morning so I don't have to worry about the machine preparing it in the morning as the dose is enough for multiple extractions. A tighter closure of the bean hopper would help increase freshness and can be treated with a rubber band for an on-the-fly closure.
