Holds a lot of pages. I use regular photo paper inserts, but on almost every page I have a piece of cardboard in one of the photo slots that are decorated. our photos inside. I've got 20 pages right now and that's maybe a little over 1/3 of the way. If you're just taking pictures, I think you could easily fit 60+ pages in it. Overall it's a good book, especially for the price, but it has a cardboard cover - it doesn't have the high quality/soft feel of a scrapbook. If the company had more designs and not just words on a black background I would definitely buy another one for my dog pictures. I noticed that not all pages fit. I also needed pages that were all vertical and all horizontal so I could store them in chronological order. You can see the 12x12 pages sticking out of the 12x10 in the picture. Pages. but it works! And I didn't have to crop any of my images that way)
