You have to press harder than you want.
My phone had a TPU screen protector and it didn't work with it, I had to press harder than the original pin on my old phone. I even took the protector off to see if it was the protector not being very sensitive to this grip. But it still wasn't very sensitive to my actual screen. I wanted to use it for drawing and sketching, but I don't feel comfortable pressing the screen of my new phone so hard.
