Review on Enhance Your Culinary Experience with the Ronco ST2000SSGEN Showtime Petite Rotisserie by Leonard Henry

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Frustrating capacity, no self-twisting kebab sticks

Thinking it was only slightly smaller than the 'compact' model, I ordered it from Revain before it hit local stores, which I often visit . I was misled by the product description and was disappointed to find that this petite model only has a pound capacity and expects everything to be cooked in a metal basket. (On the other hand, the compact model is rated for a ten-pound load, can hold things on skewers without a 'basket', and can use self-rotating kebab sticks, which are sometimes included and sometimes sold separately.) Self-rotating wasn't in listed on the instructions, bars from what is packed inside or available as an option from the manufacturer, or on the lid of the box, but the instructions clearly stated a one pound load capacity. I'm afraid I can easily fill the basket over the weight limit. For example, a packaged marinated turkey breast fillet weighs 30 ounces, or about two pounds. A frozen pack of 4 beef or chicken kebabs weighs 24 ounces, about a pound and a half. I also think the basket is harder to clean than I would like when I'm putting kebabs in it and definitely not as fun to look at as flipping it yourself would be.

Pros
  • Easy skewer and grill DVD
Cons
  • Minor issues
