I got this tripod to carry heavy astronomical binoculars. The tripod I used before was good but not as stable as this one. The tripod adapter fits perfectly, as do the binoculars. I tried this whole setup and was amazed by the results. I like that I can now track objects much more easily with this tripod. I like the solid construction. It is very easy for me to use this tripod and as I said, the device is very stable when the binoculars are mounted on a tripod with an adapter. The only reason I bought this tripod was to use it with these heavy binoculars, but I've seen this tripod come in really handy on outings in the great outdoors just when I'm using my camera. It comes with a very handy carry case. I look forward to using this tripod again in the future. I would advise anyone interested in a solid tripod to take a good look at this one - it should suit your needs. Enthusiastic thumbs up!
