My HD1 became unusable after I assumed it was brass, broke with little to no force. I've been able to hook it up before and the connection is solid even when modulating for different settings. However, very disappointed. Update: same day used a knife to twist the broken tip and remove the screw from the HD1 mic, successfully replaced and reinstalled. I won't change my rating as if I don't have a screw to replace it with. I would just buy another brass assembly and wait for it to break under suboptimal force. The HD-1 speaker uses a steel screw.
