Bought these for the front stair railing, along with faux pine fairy lights, for Christmas decorations and also as mantel decorations. The 16 foot length was perfect and the battery lasted a full season (about a month in our household). We didn't actually use the remote except when first turning it on to select the automatic setting of the timer. After that, they turned on and off as expected. They held up well outside in inclement weather, although they darkened towards the end - but what do you want from a pair of AA batteries? Will definitely buy a few more to use next year.
