Review on 🧳 Black Venturesafe Luggage by Pacsafe by Josh Reynolds

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Well designed but only for tall people or men (25 liter version)

I really wanted it to be bad and I've tried all sorts of ways to make it work. In the end I had to bite the bullet and return it and continue the search for a new travel backpack, sacrificing the built in security features. The colors (I bought blue with light green interior) are perfect and I will miss it so much. I'm a 5'9" woman with very broad shoulders for a woman so please keep that in mind. All the safety features are great and I tested the back and found the following issues when loading the bag: Things: 1) The back of the The backpack is VERY stiff - it doesn't flex, but provides better support. However, it's also about 1.5" longer for comfort at that stiffness. Due to the limited shortening of the straps (more on that later), I had to trim the bottom of the Bend the shield a bit so it doesn't rub against the back of my thighs, which would be extremely painful when traveling and would not only wear down shirts and trousers (I've had similar issues with backpacks rubbing elsewhere), but also cause skin irritation or even blisters from rubbing.. Unfortunately there is no other way to adjust the length of the shield other than shortening the straps 2) Straps have limited ability due to their cable security function be shortened. I love the cables and the straps are adjustable from the shoulder of the bag so the cable runs all the way through the webbing. However, there is a part on the strap where the cable ends and the strap part begins, and it's sewn so it doesn't go through the adjusters. I totally understand why, but it means you can't shorten the straps. I figured this wouldn't be a problem for me as I usually like longer straps, but combined with a hard shield it was a big problem. The usual length of the straps I held the straps on was not comfortable at all due to the stiff back, and I gradually shortened them to improve comfort with each step, but hit the limit too quickly. Again, this wouldn't be a problem without a hard shield, so (1) and (2) are very related. 3) All the weight of the bag falls to the ground - this is the shape of the bag. , with a broader base and narrower depth as it rises. It's not counterintuitive, but it does mean that the bag is sticking out a lot in one spot and it makes it harder for me to move around in a crowd or turn around without hitting people or things. 4) Smaller front pocket for you to put small items, just zippers on the right side and top and about 1 inch on the left side. This isn't usually a problem - most right-handers close this way. However, I'm left-handed and prefer the zipper on the left side. It only really matters if I don't have zips for security reasons as the zip is only on the right side so I have to close that way then. But if it closed equally on both sides it would make this bag much easier to use, as would zippers on either side of the bag for left-handers. Otherwise I really liked the bag. Good design, good workmanship and everything I trust from PacSafe. I would like to see compression straps on the 15L version - I would consider buying them. Or alternatively perhaps a 20 liter version with compression straps - that would be the ideal size to remain roomy but more compact and less intrusive. But okay. I think this bag will be very good for men as they don't usually have much flex below the waist at the top of the buttocks so rubbing is not a big issue. Also suitable for taller people, as short straps and a limiter are required here. However, with Revain's easy return policy, you can always try it and send it back if it doesn't work like I did. Who knows, you might find that exact bag!
