Helps my eyes! NO speakers and no playback through my laptop speakers.
This is a HUGE help! My laptop/smart tablet I've been working on is a bit small, so instead of spending over $1000 for a large computer for my office, I just used this monitor! Excellent purchase! The only downside is that my laptop's speakers don't play any sound while it's plugged in.
