I am very familiar with the Canidae dog food brand, I have been feeding my dogs this for years with good results. This formula uses wild salmon, which I prefer to feed (instead of farmed salmon). Also included in this formula are chickpeas and peas, which I don't really like due to the relationship between these ingredients and dilated cardiomyopathy (the body uses taurine to break down these foods and remove it from the heart where it's needed). I have stopped using dog food containing this type of legume due to heart problems. I supplement my dogs with taurine to hopefully strengthen the heart muscle. I will definitely be feeding this pack to my small dog but because of the chickpeas and peas in this formula I probably won't be buying it again.
