This part is cast unlike the original part which looks more like a tube welded to the stamping. Casting results in a rough finish rather than a smooth finish. It's functionally equivalent (or possibly even stronger than the original), but if you're looking for a production part in such a prominent place on a 30-year-old car, it might draw attention.
