I didn't know it but I got tired of that big stack of pot lids that kept slipping in our pot cabinet. I remember visiting a friend a long time ago who had a lid holder and thought it was cute, but until recently I never really thought about how much those lids annoyed me. Part of that was because I never wanted to waste counter space with a giant shelf of pot lids. But this stand can be hung on the wall where it won't take up too much space, and it's also convenient to reach and remove the cover from it. The only thing I don't like about it is that some of the lids can be pushed against each other a bit depending on their shape and size so you may need to be a bit careful to put them back in place or pull them out so nobody pulls the next to the ground when you pull the other one out.
