We bought it a bit too big at the time and a year and a half later it still fits great. It's not too thick which is perfect for us - we rain a lot when the weather isn't that cold and it works great. Of course my daughter (age 4) didn't wear this every time it rained as sometimes she decided she didn't like dinosaurs anymore. And the next day she wore it. *sigh*
