Review on Shockproof Galaxy Note 9 Case - Ringke Fusion Transparent Phone Cover For Maximum Protection (Smoke Black) by Kristina Scott

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Fits great on my Note 9. Needs an additional design tweek.

I purchased the Ringke Fusion back cover specifically for the hand strap. I knew in advance the hand strap slots were on the left side, (looking from the front) just above left corner. Ringke Fusion needs to add bottom-right corner strap holes to it's back cover phone cases. The Note 9 (that I purchased the Ringke Fusion back case for) replaces an old and cranky Sony Z1 Compact. The Z1 Compact has factory strap holes in the bottom-right corner of the phone. I inserted a shirt button on twine in the strap holes, and secured a hand strap to the twine between the button and camera body. The button provides a good grip point to pull the phone out of my belt holster, and the hand strap (from an old Canon digital point-n-shoot camera) saved my Z1 several times from being dropped, broken or lost.To get a grip button and hand strap on the bottom right corner of my Note 9, I clamped the Ringke Fusion back case in a vise, and drilled to small (twine-sized) holes in the right corner. Drilling plastic is iffy at best, but I managed not to damage the case. I now have the a grip button and hand strap setup on my Note 9, that I enjoyed on my Z1.The Ringke Fusion back case fits the Note 9 securely, and is easy to remove when needed.

Pros
  • This is a very nice case, definitely worth the $10.
Cons
  • The case can obscure the design of the phone, which can be a drawback for those who like to show off their devices
