The reel isn't too stiff either, so you don't have to be afraid to apply a lot of force. The ends are gold plated and sound great. I didn't notice any interference or noise. It uses a stepped design so the ends also fit phone cases, which is a must for accessory cables these days. The color of the connectors is also a nice metallic blue.
