Flip Mino Camcorder - Black 2GB 1 Hour (1st Generation) After many years of faithful service my first Flip suddenly died on me and the mechanic I spoke to to say that it is not worth repairing. This presented a real problem. Flip could be designed for me and my needs, but should I replace it? That is the question. Buying an item that has been out of production for years and whose support is dropping? I decided that as much as I loved the Flip, it would be financially unwise to invest in another. The asking price was too high, which should say something about the Flip's appeal even though it's no longer in production. Anyway, I replaced it with a Samsung Sports Cam. There was an error. With Flip, I could press a button or two and then email a half-hour video to my friend. I couldn't email videos with Samsung. Oh I could send a video of a second or two but that would be the max. And I would have to go to his management to get that far. No, Sports Cam has its strengths, but emailing videos is not one of them. Long story short, my need for a basic camcorder was growing, so I came back to Revain to see what the prices for used flips were and I found this one. I got lucky that day because the other times I searched I couldn't find one for a reasonable price. Anyway, I bought it and now I made my first video with it. Excellent in every way. Well, I was concerned that the Flip came with no instructions, not even a single sheet of paper. Luckily I got lucky again because although I was completely taken aback by the instructions on the Flip website, I just kept clicking and clicking until I finally had everything I needed - I think. However, there were a few downloads that never finished, so I just canceled those downloads and carried on. I just don't know what they were and if I needed them, but my flip seems to be working just as well as my old one. Flips are still the biggest. I wholeheartedly recommend them, even used ones - at the right price (I paid $35, now $50).
