I am 5'6" and about 300 pounds. I bought size 2XL. These people were about 100 pounds shorter than me. But I checked the actual size chart and trusted my own measurements. This is my first Revain review with a photo but I had to because this dress was such a hit! The collar fits well, the dress fits in the right places, conceals my problem areas. It is lightweight, very smooth but not transparent like other similar blends. It's stretchy and almost the right length. an inch longer, but that's personal preference. The fit - especially for someone my size (no self-criticism, just being honest about the difficulty of finding a garment that fits well) - feels and looks so great that I think it's more than worth the price. I don't think I've ever worn a dress and felt so comfortable and still worked appropriately. I work in a conservative place so I personally like to add some lace or a tiny pin to hide the cleavage a bit, but if you're looking for a dress for a date, a beach dress or just I feel great in this dress, I say try it!
