I have a computer desk with a metal back. I chose this monitor stand because of the desk clamp, but it turned out that the edge of my desk wasn't deep enough to attach the clamp, so I ended up with a flat desk stand for home remedies. Perhaps they can update their documentation with the minimum rack mount clamp depth. When trying to attach the clamp, the backboard blocked the motion to turn the handle and the clamp was only 1/2 open, so we had to go to plan B. Had I known the clamp would not fit, I would have chosen the table. Stand model or other clamp options. The rest of the build went well and I spent most of my time getting the arms to the correct height. The monitors turned on and off easily as I adjusted my arms up/down. If I had more confidence in my alternate base I would have no problem moving the monitors either way as the arms seem very solid and the henges have no up and down movement so it's aligning the monitors at the top very easy. I've tilted the monitors in the top row nicely inwards so the screen is flat when I'm looking at it.
