This is an excellent high capacity project fan - quality workmanship and durability

I bought one of these to experiment - my bathroom doesn't have an extractor fan; Can I create one that could be automated? First, the fan has a solid case - it's a metal case with a metal grille (reversible) and a solid 110 ohm household cord (which also connects to the fan). The fan fits nicely in the small window I have in this bathroom and I was able to connect to a software controlled smart plug and integrate the fan with scenes and voice commands. I was also able to set up a rule to automatically turn off the fan after 30 minutes. The only two downsides I have for the fan are that 1) it only comes with a grill - this means one side of the fan is open and it will hurt your fingers, 2) it's pretty audible - not very noisy, like a jet engine, but it's a powerful fan in a small form factor. Maybe you should think twice about sleeping next to him. On the other hand, I looked for suppliers in China who could supply a similar fan. I found an almost identical looking product and ordered a pair, but unfortunately they're a lot closer to PC case lovers - 100% plastic, no reversible/removable grille, and despite the 110 rating, they're pretty short and very thin. Clamps built into the side of the fan. There wasn't that much of a difference in price.
