I have mixed feelings about these bags. I think these special compression bags are well made and a good price. But I don't think this type of compression bag will work. I didn't expect full compression like in a vacuum bag. But I have a feeling that these bags (and I think all bags of this type) really don't save space. Please see my photos. In the first, they are compressed in the suitcase. In the 2nd they are not compressed. The third shows three bags side by side, both compressed and uncompressed. As the pockets soften with compression, there is a little more room around them for odd-shaped items. But in my opinion the case is filled about the same with and without compression. If you think about it, one pouch placed on top of the other automatically compresses the pouch below. And the lid of the suitcase squeezes everything. The only clear benefit I see in using the compression feature is that it holds the garment in place and prevents it from slipping. This can make it more accurate. And this feature helps when using one of these bags in a large bag or backpack.
