🧩 Dexter K7138400 Conversion Set Review

After disassembling the wiring on my trailer, I decided to tackle the runout myself. I watched a few videos and decided to go for it. This kit is just what I need to get the job done. I did it completely on my own with no help in less than 4 hours. Of course I already had all the necessary tools, jacks and attachment points for the trailer. I'm not a SUPER mechanic, but I can figure things out pretty quickly. This kit made things easy.

The kit was complete and had everything I needed. It works well, improves the look of the RV and adds about 5.5 inches of extra ground clearance! On our last ride, I ripped off two front stabilizer jacks because of bumps in the road (off-road). Minor complaints: I saw no mention of a highly recommended weld spacing and found out that there are two different size axle tubes, 3" or 4" (I think), but I'm glad I bought the right kit for my axle .

I just installed this on 2 3/8 axles - universal trailer for more ground clearance. I grew to about 4.5 inches. I STRONGLY recommend that you use a Di digital caliper to make sure you line up the new spring seat. The supplied mounting screws can vary by more than 1/32 (according to the instructions) and I wouldn't trust that. It may look aligned, but after using a caliper to measure it went a long way. Will never use these guys or Devter again. Received packages and missing parts. I've tried to get replacement parts but apparently they haven't arrived even after ordering a few weeks ahead of schedule. In short, we all know how difficult it is to get help on the day of installation (which was planned weeks in advance). I had help and had no spare parts. Place this on my Forrest River 177bh Forest Wood. Gives him great posture and looks great. I bought this because I have a steep driveway and might hit my sewer pipe. Overall my camper is about 7 inches taller which makes it work MUCH better with my f350. Before that, almost all of the weight was on the rear pair of tires. Doesn't go nearly straight. You may need an extra step when you're done. It took a few hours to get dressed (unfortunately it was about 112 hours that day).
