Color bleeds even when sticker is sticky

I should have looked for a higher quality decal. My first attempt (even with glue spray and a moja pod) was a disaster and had to be sanded down and the background color reapplied. The next attempt was with very little paint, and the hard brush (also glued on) leaked a bit. The third attempt to open the door of another closet was even worse. I got it to work by taking a small brush and running my hand over the areas of most leakage. Somewhat labor intensive. I made some stickers for Christmas that turned out great, but that's a different material and source.
