The instructions are just pictures, like Ikea furniture. Not very clear so study the details before assembling and imagine it like a puzzle. The square pieces run on the sides opposite the black steel pieces. The undrilled part is the upper part. The other two big parts are the middle shelf and the bottom. You will notice that the holes for drilling the pieces of wood are at different distances on each side. Check the metal and wood you want to connect to see which direction they need to go to align the holes. Black screws are for metal side, screws with plastic part are for wood. Knowing all of this in advance will make your build quick and easy. It's also raw wood. You want to stain or seal. I used Watco Danish Furniture Oil which I rubbed in. You look beautiful. They are very strong and I think that's because I took the time to put them together properly.
