I have a fair bit of shape wear. While this does some compression and a very small amount of smoothing, it doesn't do much in the way of actual shaping and contouring. This, to me, is something to maybe wear under a shirt and jeans or shorts when going out on errands to smoothing things out a little bit, but it is definitely not a piece I am going to wear to get the right shape when I am going for a night out in tighter, shorter clothes.It's not a bad bodysuit, and it's soft, but I wouldn't really call it shape wear. The straps can get a little bitey though after a wearing it for a bit though. I have other pieces that do a better job, but I can see this having it's uses.
