I bought this item in February 2020. I covered the airbed with two mats so the 50-pound basset claws never touched the surface. After a month I had to start topping it up with extra air. Until April I had to refill air every day. I couldn't find a leak so the mattress is basically unusable now. This is frustrating because it's a good idea and keeps the dog safe by filling the gap. I have pool toys that have been used by two grandchildren for five years and have never leaked. This product is not well made.
